Friends, our “Defender” derby 5 eyelet microcellular commando sole is a beast. Beware.

Mounted on a spectacularly outsized commando sole, topped with a black leather it’s held on a tight leash : a nowegian welt. It is quite… robust.

A shoe designed for extreme and hostile conditions. But it will also do fine in urban conditions. Powerful yet graceful it perfectly acclimates to cities, thanks to its streamlined look.

Whether around the Mont-Blanc or walking down the street the “Defender” is all about comfort while giving you a hightened point of view on things.

– Insert raw wood shoe trees into your shoes as soon as you take them off: they absorb moisture and preserve the integrity and shape of the shoe.

– Use a shoehorn for your comfort and to protect the shoe’s heel counter.

– Alternate your pairs of shoes as much as possible, as leather needs to dry properly to remain supple and keep its shape. Never leave your pair near a source of heat or moisture.

– Regularly wipe your pair with a dry cloth or give them a quick brush.

– Use Saphir Médaille d'Or lotion every five to ten wears. It cleans and nourishes the leather: this is an essential and regular maintenance step. Saphir Médaille d'Or cream polish (neutral or in the color of the shoe) is a complementary treatment that provides deeper nourishment.

– Once your shoes are clean and hydrated, apply a little Saphir Médaille d'Or wax polish to provide additional protection and a shiny finish. Finally, buff with a polishing cloth or a soft-bristled brush.

– For a mirror shine (glacage), emulsify by alternating layers of wax polish and fine droplets of water, only on the rigid parts of the shoe. This process requires time and precision. Rub a nylon, wool, or cashmere stocking over a finished mirror shine.
