A beautiful shoe is above all a quality shoe
Manufacturing
Marcel Dassault used to say: "A beautiful plane is a plane that flies well!"
01
LEATHER
We are uncompromising in our selection of hides.
This is why our leathers come exclusively from the most renowned French tanneries (Tannerie Roux, Tannerie d’Annonay, Tannerie Degermann, Tannerie du Puy).
There is one exception, however: our water-repellent suede, which comes from Charles F Stead & Co LTD (United Kingdom), one of the greatest benchmarks in the field.
The grade of leather selected is unprecedented at this price point.
02
THE SOLE
Our leather soles have undergone an extra-slow vegetable tanning process.
This is extremely rare at this price point.
Despite a much higher production cost, we chose this process because it guarantees increased durability, water resistance, and longevity for the outsole.
Our leather soles are also equipped with a double shank.
Highlighted on all our leather soles, this double shank is made of wood.
03
GOODYEAR FITTING
Malfroid prioritizes high-quality Goodyear welting in the manufacturing of its models.
The choice of Goodyear welting was an obvious one because it guarantees durability.
But it is also a matter of style: the sole’s “extension” provides a particular foundation and balance. Finally, it ensures that your shoes can be easily resoled for many years of use.
04
SHAPES
The foot must be supported, protected, and comfortable, so that walking is fluid and smooth. Malfroid has taken care to offer the majority of its permanent collection in round shapes:
361 and 369 (our ankle boots)
333 (a shape also called “Cooper”)
275 for loafers (Newport and Goodwood)
We also offer slimmer shapes (our 533 oxford or the 274, which is used for the Gritti loafer) so that everyone can find the perfect match for their silhouette and style.
Value for Money
We offer a grade of leather never before reached at this price point, which places Malfroid today among the best
value for money in the high-end footwear sector
