The new DEFENDER evolves smoothly: it’s much lighter, the upper has been redesigned and its proportions have been reworked. We kept the essentials… but simply improved it… The last is still the same, but with more balance, character and might!

The upper is condensed by only a few millimeters, but when worn, boy it’s a small revolution.

The Vibram rubber is now fitted on all our new DEFENDERS and this is a first: very robust and featherweight Commando sole.

+ Lightweight: this is a gain of 100g per shoe and it has a huge impact.

+ Comfortable: the rubber gives way to the microcellular (rebound and support).

The Norwegian welt gives tremendous allure and an unquestionable structural strength, the dark brown welt blends wonderfully with the sage green. Yes this is more than ever a shoe for long comfortable walks in town or in isolated territories, celebrating elegance in every way. Perfect day after day, under any weathers.

– Insert raw wood shoe trees into your shoes as soon as you take them off: They absorb moisture and preserve the integrity and shape of the shoe.

– Use a shoehorn for your comfort and to protect the shoe's heel counter.

– Rotate your pairs of shoes as much as possible, as leather needs to dry properly to remain supple and maintain its shape. Never leave your pair near a source of heat or moisture.

– Regularly wipe your pair with a dry cloth or give them a quick brush.

– Use Saphir Médaille d’Or lotion every five to ten wears. It cleans and nourishes the leather: this is essential and regular maintenance. Saphir Médaille d’Or Pommadier cream (neutral or in the shoe's color) is a complementary treatment that provides deeper nourishment.

– Once your shoes are clean and hydrated, apply a little Saphir Médaille d’Or wax polish to provide extra protection and a glossy finish. Finally, buff using a chamois cloth or a soft-bristled brush.

– For a mirror shine (glacage), emulsify by alternating layers of wax polish and fine drops of water, only on the rigid parts of the shoe. This process requires time and precision. Rub a nylon, wool, or cashmere stocking over a finished mirror shine.
