On your feet, the Highland adds height and confidence to your silhouette; its comfort is a real asset: the derby offers unparalleled ease when slipping your foot into the shoe, while the generous lug sole provides a smooth, flexible stride. Ankle support on trails and roads? Perfect.

In everyday use, its robustness will not disappoint. A casual look is ideal, but it won’t tolerate sloppiness: pair it with your favorite cropped chinos or jeans, and it will suit you perfectly.

The “Defender” is versatile in every sense of the word and will hold a special place in your collection.

– Insert raw wood shoe trees into your shoes as soon as you take them off: They absorb moisture and preserve the integrity and shape of the shoe.

– Use a shoehorn for your comfort and to protect the shoe's heel counter.

– Alternate your pairs of shoes as much as possible, as leather needs to dry properly to remain supple and keep its shape. Never leave your pair near a source of heat or moisture.

– Regularly wipe your pair with a dry cloth or give it a quick brush.

– Use Saphir Médaille d’Or lotion every five to ten wears. It cleans and nourishes the leather: this is essential, regular maintenance. Saphir Médaille d’Or cream polish (neutral or in the color of the shoe) is a complementary, more nourishing treatment.

– Once your shoes are clean and hydrated, apply a little Saphir Médaille d’Or wax polish to provide extra protection and a glossy finish. Finally, buff using a chamois cloth or a soft-bristled brush.

– For a mirror shine (glacage), emulsify by alternating layers of wax polish and fine droplets of water, only on the rigid parts of the shoe. This operation requires time and precision. Buff a finished mirror shine with a nylon, wool, or cashmere stocking.
