Penny loafer Newport

Oh this long-awaited, much desired newborn is finally here!

Let’s pamper this impeccably cut, well-balanced, generously strapped penny loafer, using a supple and vibrant grained leather with a beautiful rounded nose (the last 275, a very american inspired roundness that you’ll find on our Goodwood!).

A shoe for summer and winter, for spring too … or for fall, otherwise. Yes, the Newport will go round the calendar as easily as it will of your wardrobe, for many happy combinations to come, marrying perfectly cashmere pants, Prince of Wales or tennis stripes, linen chinos… even shorts, in the hot heart of summer.

Our Newport is the obvious penny loafer we’ve all been waiting for.

Destined to become a classic of the Malfroid collection (which will serenely continue to grow) because it embodies a spirit we cherish : flexibility, versatility of masculine style, smart, relaxed & chic.

– Insert unfinished wooden shoe trees into your shoes as soon as you take them off: They absorb moisture and preserve the integrity and shape of the shoe.

– Use a shoehorn for your comfort and to protect the shoe's heel counter.

– Alternate your pairs of shoes as much as possible, as leather needs to dry properly to remain supple and maintain its shape. Never leave your pair near a source of heat or moisture.

– Regularly wipe your shoes with a dry cloth or give them a quick brush.

– Use Saphir Médaille d’Or lotion every five to ten wears. It cleans and nourishes the leather: it is an essential and regular maintenance step. Saphir Médaille d’Or Pommadier cream (neutral or matching the shoe's color) is a complementary, more nourishing treatment.

– Once your shoes are clean and hydrated, apply a little Saphir Médaille d’Or wax polish to provide extra protection and a glossy finish. Finally, buff with a chamois cloth or a soft-bristled brush.

– For a mirror shine (glacage), emulsify by alternating layers of wax polish and fine droplets of water, only on the rigid parts of the shoe. This process requires time and precision. Run a nylon, wool, or cashmere stocking over a finished mirror shine.
