Jacques says a new model within our delicate ‘Reserve’ range has arrived; ‘Reserve’ means advanced finishings, Goodyear welt with exceptional care, top leather ‘Chateaubriant’ range (for the black version), full interior lining in Malfroid blue calfskin and an all-leather heel block.

Jacques says new reworked design. The stem of the Jacques Reserve range has been lowered, the lug has been redesigned, the buckle which was chrome-plated is now made of brass. A more racy shoe, compact and mean, ready to pounce. Think E-Type, one foot on the accelerator.

Don’t ever risk wearing them without having anticipated a little how you’ll be driving your silhouette. Well ridden, the Jacques will exude a charming rigor, an old-fashioned hype, a strict and refined look. Jacques loves the austerity of a silky flannel, the discrete pattern of a Prince of Wales, a rough and well-cut linen. Nothing should prevent you from eventualy selecting a fresh and crisp striped shirt or a colorful pocket square to give that extra ‘turbo feel’ to it all.

– Insert raw wood shoe trees into your shoes as soon as you take them off: They absorb moisture and preserve the integrity and shape of the shoe.

– Use a shoehorn for your comfort and to protect the heel counter of the shoe.

– Alternate your pairs of shoes as much as possible, as leather needs to dry properly to remain supple and keep its shape. Never leave your pair near a source of heat or moisture.

– Regularly wipe your pair with a dry cloth or give them a quick brush.

– Use Saphir Médaille d’Or lotion every five to ten wears. It cleans and nourishes the leather: this is an essential and regular maintenance step. Saphir Médaille d’Or Pommadier cream (neutral or in the shoe’s color) is a complementary treatment that is more nourishing.

– Once your shoes are clean and hydrated, apply a little Saphir Médaille d’Or wax polish to provide extra protection and a shiny finish. Finally, buff using a chamois cloth or a soft-bristled brush.

– For a mirror shine (glacage), emulsify by alternating layers of wax polish and fine droplets of water, on the rigid parts of the shoe only. This operation requires time and precision. Run a nylon, wool, or cashmere stocking over a finished mirror shine.
