Is it the result of long sanitary confinements or because cooking has become a real pleasure, is it to have seen again in recent months so many great Hollywood classics in which the actors wear their pants very high and very wide, with generous jackets and impeccably cut loose overcoats? Either way, the new version of our Scapin definitely has more curves, fullness, roundness.

The shape has changed, it is the 333 which is, yes, more generous. Yet, this new version remains dynamic, stocky like an Irish boxer; it exudes an extremely elegant Anglo-Saxon spirit, with good proportions and design. Not heavy, no: rather heavenly looking.

Perfect fit and undeniable comfort go hand in hand in this shape, which is the same as that of our Defender.

The grained leather from the Annonay tannery, the rubber sole and the baraquette-stitched heel (projecting a little beyond the shoe) further add to the impression of suppleness and nice roundness.

– Insert raw wooden shoe trees into your shoes as soon as you take them off: they absorb moisture and preserve the integrity and shape of the shoe.

– Use a shoehorn for your comfort and to protect the shoe's heel counter.

– Rotate your pairs of shoes as much as possible, as leather needs to dry out properly to remain supple and maintain its shape. Never leave your pair near a source of heat or moisture.

– Regularly wipe your shoes with a dry cloth or give them a quick brushing.

– Use Saphir Médaille d’Or lotion every five to ten wears. It cleans and nourishes the leather: this is an essential and regular maintenance step. Saphir Médaille d’Or Pommadier cream (neutral or matching the shoe's color) is a complementary treatment that provides deeper nourishment.

– Once your shoes are clean and hydrated, apply a little Saphir Médaille d’Or wax polish to provide extra protection and a glossy finish. Finally, buff using a chamois cloth or a soft-bristled brush.

– For a mirror shine (glacage), emulsify by alternating layers of wax polish and tiny droplets of water, only on the rigid parts of the shoe. This process requires time and precision. Run a nylon, wool, or cashmere stocking over a finished mirror shine.
