You probably already know everything about our Defender: our ultimate derby, flanked with a commando sole and a solid Norwegian welt.

In this City version, we tame the beast a little. The choice of a thiner Dainite rubber sole and classic Goodyear welt gives this version a more feline look, .

The last also brings finesse since it is no longer our rounded 333 but the 361 (round all the same).

The result is gorgeous.

Somewhat less aggressive yet keeping a solid personality, this Defender City has an urban, smart look, with which to stroll through your favorite streets, walking or on your bike. It expresses its beautiful classicism through the purity of the renewed proportions and the sobriety of the allure. This pair can be easily worn with a sports jacket, a nice suit, your favorite pair of jeans.

Man will you look dashing with a turtleneck under the vintage street lamps on a clear moon evening, in a sports jacket on the terrace of a café on an October afternoon or with that belted raincoat, crisscrossing the glossy boulevards after a short spring shower.

Perfect all year round in the city, it will also be very satisfying on steeper country roads. Remember, this City version is still a Defender.

The most versatile and without question the most stylish in our collection.

– Insert raw wood shoe trees into your shoes as soon as you take them off: they absorb moisture and preserve the integrity and shape of the shoe.

– Use a shoehorn for your comfort and to protect the shoe's heel counter.

– Alternate your pairs of shoes as much as possible, as the leather needs to dry properly to remain supple and maintain its shape. Never leave your pair near a source of heat or humidity.

– Regularly wipe your pair with a dry cloth or give them a quick brush.

– Use Saphir Médaille d’Or lotion every five to ten wears. It cleans and nourishes the leather: this is essential, routine maintenance. Saphir Médaille d’Or Pommadier cream (neutral or in the color of the shoe) is a complementary treatment that is more nourishing.

– Once your shoes are clean and hydrated, apply a little Saphir Médaille d’Or polish to provide extra protection and a glossy finish. Finally, buff using a chamois cloth or a soft-bristled brush.

– For a mirror shine (glacage), emulsify by alternating layers of polish with fine drops of water, only on the rigid parts of the shoe. This operation requires time and precision. Run a nylon, wool, or cashmere stocking over a finished mirror shine.
