Haiku shoe

There comes a point when the purity of expression of a form aligns so well with its function and creates such a sweet spot of a boot, that words suddenly seem superfluous.

We could talk about that vibrant black leather, that feather-light microcellular gum sole, that timeless and clean Chelsea shape. Sure, we could.

But nothing beats actually wearing the new Berrière II. The tongue in the front and back will make the operation childishly simple. Suddenly the feeling of lightness and robustness.

In the mirror, no doubt, it’s your pair, the one you need. The feet will immediately approve.

Berrière II this fall, then throughout winter : warm, comfortable.

Naturally.

Fit standard - Take your usal size

– Insert raw wood shoe trees into your shoes as soon as you take them off: They absorb moisture and preserve the integrity and shape of the shoe.

– Use a shoehorn for your comfort and to protect the heel counter of the shoe.

– Alternate your pairs of shoes as much as possible, as leather needs to dry properly to remain supple and keep its shape. Never leave your pair near a source of heat or moisture.

– Regularly wipe your pair with a dry cloth or give them a quick brush.

– Use Saphir Médaille d’Or lotion every five to ten wears. It cleans and nourishes the leather: this is an essential and regular maintenance step. Saphir Médaille d’Or Pommadier cream (neutral or in the shoe’s color) is a complementary treatment that is more nourishing.

– Once your shoes are clean and hydrated, apply a little Saphir Médaille d’Or wax polish to provide extra protection and a shiny finish. Finally, buff using a chamois cloth or a soft-bristled brush.

– For a mirror shine (glacage), emulsify by alternating layers of wax polish and fine droplets of water, on the rigid parts of the shoe only. This operation requires time and precision. Run a nylon, wool, or cashmere stocking over a finished mirror shine.
