The Meeting of Two Parisian Crafts

This limited edition reinterprets one of our flagship models: the Defender. Born from a shared desire to break down barriers between wardrobes, this model celebrates the alliance between the rigor of leather and the organic character of denim.

For this creation, we selected a distinctive denim fabric from Césure, renowned for its robustness and unique patina, which we combined with our finest calfskin leathers.

 

The Details That Make the Difference

  • Contrasting Materials: Smooth leather uppers meet selvedge denim panels, offering a unique visual texture.
  • Craftsmanship at the Core: Each pair is assembled with the precision that defines Malfroid.
  • An Evolving Patina: Like a beautiful pair of custom jeans, this pair is designed to age with you. The denim softens and the leather becomes more beautiful, making each shoe absolutely unique as you wear it.

How to wear it?

This hybrid Derby is the centerpiece of the “Casual-Chic” wardrobe. It pairs naturally with raw Césure denim for a textured total look, or can be worn with flannel pants for a modern and bold silhouette.

Selvedge: the best in denim

With a much tighter weave, selvedge denim is the strongest and most durable type of denim. The weft thread, running back and forth in a continuous line, secures the edge, ensuring a perfect finish.

A Defender 2.0

Yes, as you’ve noticed, there’s something different about this Defender. The St Moritz sole remains the same, but the welt has been updated. Out goes the Norwegian welt, and in comes the Goodyear welt, known as the Baraquette (which runs all the way round the sole).
