This buffalo leather, in other words that of a wild bull, is what the new Explorer II from Malfroid is all about.

As always when you refine a model – and the Explorer is now a classic in our boot collection alongside the Defender Highland, well we put everything back on the workbench: we rethink the proportions, the line, to further perfect the look from bottom to top, from the sole to the knot of the laces (orange this time!).

It all starts with an exceptionally robust leather, bewitching with its brutalist and tough look, so surprising when you caress it for the first time. Tame it, this shoe won’t laugh in the face of adversity. Or rather it will, with a calm and confident smile.

Putting it on immediately gives the feeling of being stronger, bigger, more powerful. Well shod, in short.

A Norwegian welt, a microcellular St Moritz commando sole, the Explorer II takes the best of the previous model, but the result is a notch above.

This is the shoe of the trapper of the twenty-first century who would no longer roam the mountains and valleys to hunt but, listening to the elements, to preserve their wonders.
