Traditional “Laguiole” knife – blue carbon fibre finish

The traditional knife from Laguiole (in the region of Aubrac) is perhaps one of the most evocative handcrafted objects there is.   

What does it evoke? Surely a vast region of France, a wild nature with its inhabitants and its herds but more certainly, it evokes an ancient know-how, tradition and skills, an art of excellence.   

A knife is men’s primary and basic utensil, a tool for the everyday which transforms one’s environment in a positive way.   

A Laguiole is like the madeleine of Proust, a time capsule of infinite possibilities to take in your pocket and to use along the way: by a fire, under the stars or while resting on the banks of a torrent. It will cut a piece of your cheese, a nice loaf of bread, hard wood. Lend it to your traveling companion, graciously: he’ll thank you for it.
