The Joseph Bonnie X Malfroid cordovan bracelet
Some objects have an aura. Some materials too.
Especially when Malfroid and Joseph Bonnie work hand in hand as they do regularly and deliver to you the tasty fruits of their collaboration(s). This time it is a new bracelet in Genuine Shell Cordovan, such a special leather available in three stunning colors: black, green & the famous ‘roasted cherry red’.
There is a real pleasure in having high standards in order to make things right. And so, naturally, each in their own field Malfroid and Joseph Bonnie have high expectations: when selecting leathers, designing and manufacturing a product.
As you may already know, Malfroid had, in the autumn, inaugurated a new “Reserve” collection with a selection of loafers made in Cordovan.
Today, as a natural extension of the shoe, comes the bracelet.
And so here it is, handmade in a workshop in Limousin (France) using Cordovan leather from Horween, the prestigious American tannery.
The patina, the beauty of its specific characteristics & the mystery that surrounds its manufacturing (more than 100 steps are necessary) makes this Cordovan leather radiate from the heart of its fibers a lustrous fire that one gradually tames and eventually reveres.
This specific model is a bund strap which will give a sporty, masculine, elegant look that works well. We think back to Paul Newman who immortalized it by judiciously associating it with a Daytona.
Nb. You can of course remove the bund for a more formal wear. Two bracelets in one, in short! The result? Well, simply stunning.
All you have to do is choose the color. But since it will be very difficult because each one is extraordinary, you’ll probably end up playing Eeny, meeny, miny, moe.
