Penny loafer “Tilsitt” Dark brown suede & commando sole (last 444)

Put a commando rubber sole on a Tilsitt and you get a feline looking shoe: pretty wild, supple with power. Shoes that gut you up and give you confidence.

If this black velvet Tilsitt was a painting it would be a Douanier Rousseau: in a jungle far far away, with giant palm trees, large leaves, mist and tropical flowers, a jaguar is quietly watching you. Or is he hunting you…

The velvet brown version could be the lion killing a caiman in that painting by Delacroix.

We are dealing with masterpieces here, as you can see. But let’s not overdo it.

If this new Tilsitt Mk2 was music, it would certainly be the open tuning, a technique Keith Richard and Jimmy Page master so well.

A chord is open which only includes the fundamental and the fifth (no third) and which is compatible with the two main musical modes, major and minor.

Open tuning is swift, never restrictive, inviting, harmonically full. Transposed to the masculine style, this shoe would be it: each time in tune with the silhouette you have composed.

A well-balanced shoe mastering the art of counterpoint: combining a bad boy sole with the timeless elegance of a moccasin.
