Malfroid is an independent French shoemaker created in 2018 in Paris.
Malfroid draws its inspiration from the timeless English style, the impalpable Italian sprezzatura, an American casualness and cool, and that je ne sais quoi that makes French elegance.
Malfroid has two shops in Paris and is, all in all, a team of four enthusiasts (+ a cobbler compagnon du devoir). We welcome a loyal clientele but most often new clients and the Malfroid community is firmly growing, in France and abroad, thanks to a virtuous word-of-mouth.
Under the leadership of Victor Bastié, the founder, we work hard to build a brand of excellence. Our shoes are made in Porto (center of an ancient and undeniable know-how) using leathers of optimal quality, from French or English tanneries (soon Italian too!).
Our passion is the shoe and the world of beauty that evolves around it: shoes should remain an object of desire, comfortable, dashing and suiting precisely your needs and taste. Our shoes we like to take care of and will cherish for the years to come. We’ll even ask you how they are whenever you visit our stores.

Beauty is an abundant source of exchanges and emotions and our shoes, almost always, take us elsewhere, at different crossroads: because a beautiful object always attracts others in its wake and often a conversation takes place.
Beautiful shoes call for nice socks. It often starts with the socks, then quickly a suitable pair of pants, the cut of a suit, a favorite tailor ; a gentleman is getting married in Italy next week : “of course we can deliver your shoes directly to you”, a long-lasting passion for watches, a favorite author (Proust and his galoches!), movies we love (Cary Grant’s charisma!)…
Our team of four (the A-? no, the M-team) is working on multiple levels: from the drawing and conception of Malfroid’s prototypes to the choice of materials, from managing our website (photographing our shoes, writing the content of the site and of our Instagram, exchanging messages and advice with our customers online, sending orders), to sales and advice in store, from making unique patinas (made here directly in our workshop) to care (shoeshine and glazing) and repairs.
Every day we strive to produce quality work with your satisfaction and pleasure as our best reward. Beauty necessarily involves quality: the result sparks positive energies.
